International Art Biennale Cox’s Bazar begins
Dhaka: The first edition of International Art Biennale Cox’s Bazar 2015 began on 10 September which will run till 13 September 2015 at Cox's Bazar Institute and Public Library. An initiative of a group of artists, curators, university teachers and writers, this is a non-profit organisation which is collaborating with 54 artists, critiques and media experts from all over Bangladesh and abroad.
The event will open at 4:30pm at Cox’s Bazar Institute and Public Library.
The biennale is organised by Amirul Rajiv, Aranya Sharma, and Sabyasachi Mistry.
International Art Biennale Cox’s Bazar 2015 will present a panoramic survey of artists from Bangladesh, India and Korea. Mustafa Zaman, Razib Datta, Bipasha Hayat, Afsana Sharmin Zhuma, Ashim Halder Sagor, Heylog Lee, Kaiser Ahamed, Yasmin Jahan Nupur , Kabir Ahamed Masum Chisty, Mumit Mahabub, Nirvair Singh Rai, Kaisar Ahamed, and Syeed Sumon will present major projects alongside some of the most exciting emerging names from the region.
Salimullah Khan, Pavel Partha and Syed Nizar Alam will participate in the talks at the event. The free four-day art festival will include solo projects, curetted exhibitions of photography, Photo Montage, oriental art, painting, drawing, calligraphy, paper collage, print making, installation, an ambitious children art project, a talks series, performances, experimental film screenings, and presentations by local galleries.
Origami workshop by Korean artists, and puppetry by Jolpori Puppet Studio with Cox’s Bazar School Children will be held on this occasion.
