Hybrid cars to cheaper
Sangsad Bhaban: Hybrid cars will be cheaper in the next fiscal year as the government has decided to reduce the supplementary duty considering energy efficient and environment-friendly means of transport.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith proposed the reduction of Supplementary Duty (SD) on importation of 1600-1800 cc hybrid motor cars from 45 percent to 20 percent while placing the national budget in Parliament on Thursday.
‘This rate of duties will also applicable for electric motor cars,’ he said, reports the UNB.
Muhith, however, proposed to reduce the depreciation of import of the reconditioned cars by 5 percent.
‘In 2017-18 budget, yearly depreciation benefits for reconditioned cars have been restructured. I propose further 5 percent reduction of current yearly depreciation benefits in 2018- 19 budget,’ he said.
