Parliament: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Thursday sought to slap 10 percent Supplementary Duty on fast food, also known as 'junk food', considering the health risk of the future generation.

Last year, Muhith said, he had promised to impose additional taxes on fast food.

"For this reason, I'm proposing to impose 10 percent Supplementary Duty at local supply stage on fast food in addition to applicable 15 percent VAT," he told Parliament.
