London: British singer Adele has given up drinking 10 cups of tea a day. As a result, she has cut out 20 teaspoons of sugar from her diet.

"I used to drink 10 cups a day with two sugars in each so I was on 20 sugars a day. Now I don't drink it and I have more energy than ever," Adele told The Sun newspaper, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

According to the Britain's National Health Service (NHS) website, the government recommends adults shouldn't have more than 30 gm of added sugar a day - which equates to around seven teaspoons.

Last month, the "Rolling in the deep" crooner said that she doesn't like going to the gym to exercise but doesn't mind lifting weights, although she is concerned the beauty regime might cause blood vessels on her face to burst.

"I'm not, like, skipping to the f**king gym. I don't enjoy it. I do like doing weights. I don't like looking in the mirror. Blood vessels burst on my face really easily, so I'm so conscious when I'm lifting weights not to let them burst in my face. And if I don't tour, you'll catch me back down at the Chinese," she said.
