New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has made his debut on micro blogging site Twitter. The handle of his official account is ‘@OfficeOfRG’.

‘Watch this space for information and updates on Rahul Gandhi's official programs and upcoming events,’ one of the initial tweets from the handle read.

The handle, which was verified within 24 hours, got more than 27,000 followers as of 3pm on Thursday.

It follows only three accounts -- all related to Congress.

Gandhi joins the micro-blogging site much later than his party colleagues. Among the most followed Congress leaders on Twitter are Shashi Tharoor, Digvijaya Singh and Manish Tewari. Tharoor has nearly 2.98 million followers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has over 12.1 million followers, while Delhi Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal is followed by 4.39 million people.
