Spain keen to translate ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’
Dhaka: Spain has showed interest to translate ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’ of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman into Spanish language.
The Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Eduardo de Laigiesiay Del Rosa on Wednesday made a proposal in this regard when the envoy called on Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at the latter's office, a foreign ministry press release said.
Welcoming the proposal, the foreign minister said translation of ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’ into Spanish language would provide an opportunity to Spanish people to understand Bangali people through the life and thoughts of Bangabandhu.
During the meeting, the ambassador lauded the stunning progress made by Bangladesh in the recent years and said that there was an immense opportunity for the country to achieve further progress in the days to come.
Mentioning that excellent bilateral relations have been existing between Bangladesh and Spain, the foreign minister stressed on further expansion of trade relations between the two friendly countries for the benefits of the two people.
In this connection, he proposed to exchange of visits among the trade representatives between the two countries for further expansion of trade relations.
The minister also called upon the ambassador to take steps for recruiting more Bangladeshi manpower to Spain considering their working skills and experiences.
Mahmood Ali assured the Spanish envoy of providing all out support in discharging duties in Bangladesh.
Later, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Cyprus (based in New Delhi) Dometrios A Theophylactou called on Foreign Minister AH Mahood Ali at his office on Wednesday.
