Syed Shamsul Haque’s 80th birth anniv observed

Dhaka: The 80th birth anniversary of versatile writer Syed Shamsul Haque was observed on Sunday.
Syed Shamsul Haque was born on this day in 1935 in Kurigram district.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangabandhu's younger daughter Sheikh Rehana sent bouquets to the writer conveying their heartiest greetings him on the occasion.
PM's Special Assistant Mahbubul Haque Shakil handed over the bouquets to Syed Shamsul Haque at his Gulshan residence in the capital on behalf of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana.
Receiving the bouquets, Syed Haque expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and her sister.
Syed Haque Jayonti Udjapan Parishad arranged a special programme at the National Theatre Hall of Shilpakala Academy on the occasion.
Prominent cultural personalities Ramendu Majumdar, Syed Hasan Imam, Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, Golam Kuddus, Aly Zaker and Dr Mohammad Samad spoke on the occasion.
