Thailand Week 2016 begins Wednesday
Dhaka: A four-day trade show, titled 'Thailand Week 2016', begins here on Wednesday, aiming to help expand trade relations between the two countries.
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, Thailand and Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka will jointly host the event in two phases.
Charge d' Affaires at the Thai Embassy Phasit Chudabuddhi and Executive Director and Consul (Commercial) Suwimol Tilokruangchai talked about the event at a press conference at National Press Club on Sunday.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the event as the chief guest at the International Convention City, Bashundhara in the city.
Trade days will consist of Business Matching sessions to be held on 16 and 17 March and on 18 and 19 March the exhibition will remain open to the public.
This event is an effort of the Royal Thai Government to expand the opportunities to the business communities of both countries which will consequently strengthen the economical ties, said the organisers.
The exhibitors will feature industrial products that include garments and fashion accessories, food and beverages, heavy household and kitchenware products at the event.
The Thai Embassy officials welcomed all Bangladeshi importers and businessmen to visit the fair and enjoy the meeting with Thai exporters.
There will be a stage at the venue where a Thai cultural show will be held along with cooking demonstration of different cuisines.
