Makkah: Islam's holiest city Makkah, the birthplace of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh), has turned into a gathering place of millions of hajj pilgrims.

Hajj pilgrims are now staying in Makkah. After reaching the city, they first perform Umrah and then Tawaf (going round Al-Kaaba seven times in a defined manner ending with prayer) and Sa'ay (running or walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah).

Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims have also gathered in the city. Bangladeshi citizens, who are living in Makkah, are visiting their relatives.

However, the Bangladeshi pilgrims, who could not speak in English and Arabic, have to suffer a lot when they are lost from their groups with several missing incidents reported so far.
In the gathering of lakhs of hajj pilgrims, their identity cards and wristbands have become their safeguards.

Basirullah, a teacher of Keraniganj Girls' School and College who came to perform hajj with his nephew, once went missing.

After reporting to police, they took him to the Bangladesh Hajj Mission.

After passing a day there, a hajj agency rescued him from the mission.

Officials at the hajj mission said they have already received over 100 missing incidents. The mission is working for the hajjis around the clock, they said.
