Former national footballer Amalesh Sen dies

Dhaka: Former national footballer and a member of Swadhin Bangla Football team Amalesh Sen passed away at city hospital on Saturday night. He was 72.
The footballer breathed his last at 7:00pm at the Bangladesh Medical Hospital.
Amalesh Sen, an assistant coach of Dhaka Abahani Ltd, left behind his wife, two sons and a good number of well-wishers to mourn his death.
During his colorful football career, Amalesh Sen, also known as Dada, played for Dhaka Abahani Ltd, Mohammedan SC, Fire Service, East End and other leading clubs.
BFF President Kazi Salahuddin, Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedi, vice presidents, executive committee members, general secretaries and all employees of the federation expressed deep shock at the death of Amalesh and conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family members.
The body of Amalesh Sen was brought at the Abahani Club premises in Dhanmondi at 9:00pm where people from all walks of life paid their last tributes to the footballer.
