India: For little Sahiba's parents, watching the scene unfold must have been sheer torture. Their baby girl lay spread-eagled on a railway track, squeezed into a narrow column flanking the platform, as a train barrelled over her.

Seconds passed. So did the train -- the first rescuer leapt off the platform no sooner than it did. The young man found Sahiba unhurt, reports the indiatoday.in.

A Times of India report says she fell out of her mother's arms at the Mathura railway station; her father said the family was getting off the train so he could complain to the authorities about being pickpocketed.

‘It was unbearable to watch,’ said one Twitter user, after the video was posted by ANI, a news agency.

‘Krishna, Krishna,’ one woman can be heard saying in the clip, apparently in relief and gratitude. Some users wondered why it was filmed in the first place.

The wheels of the train were inches away from Sahiba's feet, possibly much closer. But happily, it's all no more than a bad memory now.
