Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo narrowly avoided a fall as he slipped off the Los Blancos team bus ahead of Tuesday’s Super Cup clash against Manchester United.

The 2016 Ballon d’Or winner was making his way down the Real coach steps when he slipped on a towel, falling down one step, reports mirror.co.uk.

Luckily for the 32-year-old his quick reactions allowed him to grab on to the rails preventing him from descending further.

Landing flat on the steps could have been a nasty fall for the man who’s only just linked back up with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo had previously been on vacation with his new twin babies after featuring for Portugal in the Confederations Cup.

More recently, the forward appeared in court in Spain following accusations of tax evasion. While speaking in court Ronaldo revealed his desire to return to England.

However, Ronaldo returned to Real Madrid training last week to prepare for the Super Cup final.

And the Portuguese was all smiles following his near fall experience.

Champions League winners Los Blancos take on Europa League champions Manchester United at the Philip II Arena in Skopje.

Ronaldo has been named in the squad despite being back in training less than one week.
