Dhaka: Bangladesh's boys got off to flying start in the SAFF U15 Championship beating Sri Lanka by 4-0 goals spurred by a hat-trick of Faysal Ahmed Fahim in the tournament opener at ANFA Complex Kathmandu, Nepal on Friday.

In their three-team Group A encounter on the day, Faysal got the net thrice to fire in the 28th, 32nd and 74th minutes and was adjudged man of the match. Defender Nazmul Biswas scored one to extend the winning margin in the 44th minute.

Bangladesh dominated the first half by 3-0 goals.

Faysal put Bangladesh ahead in the 28th minute by a superb left-footed shot from left part of the box. Sri Lankan goalie Sandeepa got no chance to stop the powerful shot, 1-0.

Receiving a short pass, after a free kick, Faysal took a grounder shot from the edge of the box which got the net to double the lead in the 32nd minute, 2-0.

Nazmul extended the margin in the 44th minute by a lovely shot from outside the box's right side, 3-0.

Faysal completed his hat-trick mission utilising a free kick opportunity in the 74th minute to extend the margin to 4-0.
