Dhaka: Bangladesh Under-23 football team will take on Syria Under-23 team in the Group-E opening day match of the AFC Under-23 Championship 2016 Qualifiers at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.  

The match will begin at 6:00pm. In the other match of the day, Uzbekistan will play against India at 3:00 pm at the same venue.  

In the remaining Group-E matches, Bangladesh will play against Uzbekistan on Sunday (29 March) and India on Tuesday (31 March) at the same venue.

Earlier, on Sunday (22 March), Bangladesh Football Federation announced a 23-member final squad of Bangladesh Under-23 team.  

Selected 23 players are: Raihan Hasan, Yeasin Khan, Sohel Rana, Rubel Miah , Toklis Ahmed (Sheikh Jamal DC), Nahidur Rahman Nahid, Atiqur Rahman Fahad, Shahedul Alam Shahed, Aminur Rahman Sajib, Shakil Ahmed, Tutul Hossain Badsha, Omar Faruk Babu, Wahed Ahmed, (Dhaka Abahani), Russell Mahmud, Topu Barman, Hemanta Vincent Biswas, Sohel Rana, Yousuf Sifat, (Sheikh Russel), Nurul Naim Faisal, Jewel Rana, Mohammad Hossain Sujon (Mohammedan SC), Mesbahuddin, Kaiser Ali Rabbi (Brothers Union) and Mohammad Naim (Team BJMC).
