Dhaka: Bangladesh ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan hit his career fifth Test century, the first against Sri Lanka, on third day of during the second Test against Sri Lanka held on Friday at P Sara Oval, Colombo.

The left handed batsman Shakib got to the useful century in the 111th over on the third day with a well-timed sweep off Dilruwan Perera. 

But three overs later, he became victim of Lakshan Sandakan's fourth wicket when he holed out to mid-on for 116, ending an useful seventh-wicket partnership of 131 with Mosaddek .

His patient 159-ball stay studded with ten boundaries, but it was an innings that was more about how he curbed his aggression for long periods on the third morning.
