Bangladesh off cutter pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who was the hero of Bangladesh’s thumping victory over India in the first one day international, hogged another headline with the record of being the second bowler in cricket ODI history to take two consecutive five-wicket haul in his first two ODIs appearance.

Lanky left arm pacer Mustafiz again was the wreaker-in-chief for Bangladesh as he destroyed India by taking six wickets for 43 runs.

His off-cutter in the last ball of the 42nd over bestowed him with back-to-back five-wicket haul in the first two of the three-match one-day international series against India.

While trying to push the ball in front of his body, Ashwin gave an edge to the keeper and went back for four and on the resumption he bowled Robindra Jadeja for 19 runs.

His fellow mates rushed to him to congratulate the young bowler from Satkhira who is just playing his second ODI match.

Before Mustafiz, Brian Vittori of Zimbabwe was the only bowler to take five haul in his first two ODIs. Vittori made his ODI debut, also against Bangladesh at Harare Sports Club, on 12 August 2011, taking 5 for 30 on debut, the best bowling figures by a Zimbabwean player on debut, and the sixth-best overall. He also took a five-wicket haul in his second match, taking 5 for 20 to become the first ever ODI player to take two five-wicket hauls in his first two matches. He also became the first player to be named man of the match in his first two games.

However, Mustafiz is one step ahead of Brian as the eleven wickets taken by Mustafizur Rahman in his first two ODIs are the most by any bowler in ODI history.

In the first match on Thursday, the 19-year-old pacer sent back Rohit Sharma, Rahane, Raina, Jadeja and Ashwin to gift Bangladesh a huge 79-run win.

On the other hand, the Bangladeshi southpaw bagged the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Raina and Ashwin again along with Indian skipper MS Dhoni, Axar Patel and Jadeja to clatter the strong Indian batting line up.
