Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has become a father for the second time on Friday after the birth of his son Mateo.  

The Argentina international missed training on Friday to attend the birth of his son by girlfriend Anonella Roccuzzo, but will be available for Barcelona's meeting with Atletico Madrid.

The Barcelona star's brother, Matias Messi, confirmed the news on Twitter.

‘Messi is available although he didn't train,’ Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique told reporters on Friday. ‘He is on the list. The club gave him permission not to train today for personal reasons.’  

Messi already has one son, named Thiago, with girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo.
