Dhaka: Pope Francis will visit Dhaka on a three-day state visit on November 30 carrying a message of peace and harmony for all.

The crucial visit was officially announced in Dhaka and Vatican City simultaneously on Monday.

Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Dhaka made the announcement saying timings and venues of the Pope’s engagements in Dhaka will be shared later.

The visit, which has been in discussion for over a year, is taking place following two separate invitations, including one from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Pope will meet President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina among other engagements. He will also visit Myanmar.

Last year, Pope Francis announced that he would ‘almost certainly’ visit India and Bangladesh in 2017.
