Malaysia to legalise illegal Bangladeshi workers
Dhaka: Illegal Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia will be legalised in the country, said Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak during a parliamentary session on Thursday.
However, the Malaysian government does not make any official disclosure on the issue.
Najib Razab told Malaysian state television channel the legalisation matter will be officially declared soon.
Bangladeshi High Commission in Malaysia Mohammad Shahidul Islam asked illegal Bangladeshi workers not to miss the chance to register themselves as legal.
He told NTV Online earlier Malaysian government gave opportunities to legalise Bangladeshi illegal workers. Many of them failed to register as they trapped by some syndicates.
Shahidul Islam requested the Bangladeshis to contact directly with the High Commission for the process of legalisation.
Earlier, around 2, 64,000 Bangladeshi workers had been legalised by the Malaysian government.
