Spain: Completing his German book tour, Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus now reached Spain with his book—A World of Three Zeros.

Barca Vice President Jordi Mestre received Dr Yunus at Camp Nou on Wednesday where he met star players like Lionel Messi, Gerard Picque, Eric Abidal and Samuel Umtiti, reports the UNB.

The Nobel Laureate was invited to watch the players training in an exclusive visit as he has been advocating for mobilising sports for social transformation through social business.

FCB Foundation is a partner of the Barcelona Social Business City programme.

Prof Yunus is touring with the book published by Paidos to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia, according to Yunus Centre.

Earlier, Prof Yunus completed his German book tour with his first stop in Berlin on Saturday giving an insight into the concept of Social Business in his talk about his new book.

On Sunday, Prof Yunus visited Hamburg, Germany to talk about his new book highlighting the concept of Social Business.

He offered his vision of an emerging new economic system in his new book - A World of Three Zeros: The New Economics of Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions.

After Berlin and Hamburg, he visited Frankfurt and Wiesbaden and took the time to answer questions about Social Business and how he imagines this new economic system.

The events ended with a book signing session.

Prof Yunus created microcredit, invented Social Business, and earned a Nobel Peace Prize for his work in alleviating poverty, according to Grameen Creative Lab.

Now he declares it is time to admit that the capitalist engine is broken - that in its current form it inevitably leads to rampant inequality, massive unemployment, and environmental destruction.

In his book, Yunus explained how thousands of people and organisations have already embraced this vision of a new form of capitalism, launching innovative social businesses designed to serve human needs rather than accumulate wealth.

They are bringing solar energy to millions of homes in Bangladesh; turning thousands of unemployed young people into entrepreneurs through equity investments; financing female-owned businesses in cities across the United States; bringing mobility, shelter, and other services to the rural poor in France; and creating a global support network to help young entrepreneurs launch their start-ups.

In A World of Three Zeros, Yunus described the new civilization emerging from the economic experiments his work has helped to inspire.

He explained how global companies like McCain, Renault, Essilor, and Danone got involved with this new economic model through their own social action groups, describes the ingenious new financial tools now funding social businesses, and sketches the legal and regulatory changes needed to jump start the next wave of socially driven innovations.

Prof Yunus invited young people, business and political leaders, and ordinary citizens to join the movement and help create the better world ‘we all dream of’.

‘Once I’ve learned how the conventional banks do it I just do the opposite,’ said Prof Yunus adding, ‘From old to new is very simple - what we do now, do it in reverse.’

In the new civilization, he said, there will be no stock market. ‘There’ll be Social Stock Market, where we’ll compare which companies to invest in to participate in the Social Business, not to maximise profit.’
