Turkey wants univ deans quit: state media
Istanbul, Turkey: Turkey has demanded the resignation of 1,577 university deans suspected of being connected with Friday’s attempted coup, state-run news agency Anadolu reported Tuesday.
The country’s higher education board made the demand for deans at state and private foundation universities to resign, Anadolu said.
Education Employees sacked
More than 15,000 Turkish state education employees have been suspended after last week’s attempted coup, the education ministry said on Tuesday.
‘15,200 state employees have been suspended and an investigation has been launched into them,’ it said in a statement.
