Philadelphia, US: Democrats began a four-day meeting in Philadelphia on Monday that will end with the presidential nomination of Hillary Clinton, the first female to lead a major US political party’s White House ticket.
Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake stepped in to formally open the proceedings, after party boss Debbie Wasserman Schultz was ousted in a feud that has split the party as it heads toward November’s election.
