A fisherman showing off a massive carp in the Czech Republic found his victory short-lived when his slippery catch escaped back into the water.

A video filmed in Brno this spring and uploaded to YouTube this week shows the fisherman posing on shore while holding his big catch in both arms, reports upi.com.

The man attempts to set the fish down on the ground, but the carp begins to flap furiously as soon as it is out of his grip.

The fisherman and a second man struggle to get a hold of the big carp, but the fish manages to slip through their fingers and return to the water.
