‘Nazrul Mela 2017’ in Kolkata from June 1

Dhaka: The first-ever Nazrul Mela will begin on June 1 at Sisir Mancha, Abanindra Sabhagriha and Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshasala in Kolkata.
Chhayanat (Kolkata) with the participation of the admirers of Kazi Nazrul Islam from both West Bengal and Bangladesh will organise the programme.
The festival will be inaugurated by the legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer Ferdous Ara (Bangladesh), in the presence of Kazi Nazrul Islam's daughter-in-law Kalyani Kazi while the ceremony will also be attended by many singers and artistes.
Many artistes from both the countries will participate in various cultural and musical programmes during the four-day festival.
It is a unique photo exhibition 'Autograph On Photograph' by very well-known photographer Sri Prashant Arora featuring many exclusive photos of renowned Nazrul Sangeet singers of both the countries.
Aw part of fair, there will be a 'Display Counter', where the music CDs, books, stamps, manuscript, coin and publications will be displayed by various collectors.
Chhayanat, Bageshree, Kathashilpi, Geetolekha, BisherBanshi, Amodini (India), Surosaptak, Ranota and Banshori (Bangladesh) will perform group performances while Sayed Hasmat Jalal, Binod Ghosal, KalyaniKazi, Mujibar Rahman (India), Masum Chowdhury, Kamaluddin (Bangladesh) will attend the seminar.
The fair will end on June 4.
