6 pharmacies fined
Chittagong: A mobile court of Chittagong District Administration on Tuesday fined six pharmacies Tk 60 thousand for selling doctors' sample medicines and unapproved Indian medicines.
Deputy Revenue Collector and Executive Magistrate of Chittagong District Administration Mohammad Ruhul Amin led the mobile court at city's Dewanzi Pukur lane and KB Fazlul Kader road areas and fined the pharmacies.
The executive magistrate said the pharmacies were selling unapproved Indian medicines and doctors' samples medicines, which is legally punishable.
The pharmacies were fined under different acts of Drug Act 1940, the executive magistrate added.
The mobile court also seized huge quantities of medicines used as doctors' samples.
