Joypurhat: Asida Beowa, widow of Sayem Uddin who was shot to death allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF), filed a case against 30 BSF members on Tuesday accusing them of the killing incident.

Asida filed the case with the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Tajul Islam.

The accused in the case include CL Patel, company commander of Charli camp of Durgapur 75 Battalion of BSF in India, AC Mina and FS Aunash Kumar.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Tajul Islam ordered the officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station to submit the autopsy report of the victim and look into whether any case was filed earlier in this connection.

According to the case statement, on Friday afternoon, some children were going fishing in a pond at Ramkrishnapur village, adjacent to 273 no. pillar of the border.

Some BSF personnel and at the children had an argument in this connection.

Following this, the infuriated BSF men entered the Bangladesh territory and chased off the children.

After a while, the BSF members, violating the international border law, entered the Ramkrishnapur village and opened fire on the villagers that left five people, including Sayem, injured on the spot.

The injured were taken to Joypurhat Adhunik Hospital from where Sayem was shifted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

He, however, died at the hospital at about 4:30pm.
