Bangladeshi shot dead in South Africa

Noakhali: A Bangladeshi businessman was gunned down by miscreants in his shop in Bloemfontien area of Free State province in South Africa on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Masud, a resident of Betuadev village in Begumganj upazila.
Masud had a number of business farms in Buloban city.
Deceased’s brother Harun-ur-Rashid said he was talking to his brother Masud at about 10:00pm over mobile phone and heard gunfire at one stage from Masud’s end and then he did not get any response from his brother.
After few minutes, their relative Sahab Uddin from South Africa told Harun over phone that miscreants shot Masud’s in his head, killing him on the spot.
The assailants also looted his shop.
Harun said Masud along with his family went to South Africa in October 2004.
