Ctg bullet-hit victim dies at CMCH
Chittagong: A man who suffered bullet wounds during a robbery at Majhirghat under Sadarghat Police Station in the city on Wednesday night died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Saturday morning.
Satya Gopal Bhaumick, in his fifties, manager of Shah Corporation, succumbed to his injuries at about 8:15am, said CMCH Police Camp in-charge sub-inspector Pankaj Barua.
Earlier on Wednesday night, a band of 7-8 armed robbers stormed ‘Shah Corporation’, a business establishment, at about 11:30pm and looted Tk 16 lakh.
At one stage, staff of the business firm encircled the robbers while they were trying to flee the scene. The alleged robbers then opened fire and blasted crude bombs in their desperate bid to break the cordon, leaving two of their own members dead on the spot and five other people, including Satya Gopal, injured.
