A drag dealer, Khokon, was shot to death by police at Ishwardi upazila in Mymensingh on Wednesday night.

Ishwarganj Police officer-in-charge (OC) Aktaruzzaman said Khokon’s associates threw crude bombs and opened fire at the police as they went to pick up Khokon from Shohagi area of Ishwardi. Police also fired back and shot Khokon to death.

Police recovered a foreign pistol, two bullets, a magazine, and four crude bombs.  

Police claimed OC Aktaruzzaman, sub-inspector Masud Rana and constable Emdad were also injured during the gunfight.
Police said there are several cases filed against Khokon with Ishwarganj police.
