Rangpur: A battery-run auto-rickshaw crushed a minor girl on the spot at Burirhat Kadamtoli point on the Rangpur-Gangachara road in the outskirts of Rangpur city, police sources said.

The deceased was identified as Farzana, 7, daughter of Feroz Hossain of Burirhat Koshaipara village.

The accident occurred when a running auto-rickshaw hit Farzana while she was crossing the road at about 10:00am.

Driver of the killer auto bike immediately fled the area abandoning his vehicle.

Confirming the accident and death, Kotwali police officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Abdul Aziz said that a case has been filed in this connection.
