Khulna: Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) rescued a two and a half year old girl Raisa three days after her abduction from Labonchara area in Khulna city on Sunday night.

They also arrested a couple for their alleged involvement in the abduction, said Moniruzzaman Mithu, additional deputy police commissioner of KMP.

One named Palash and his wife Aklima Akter, abducted Raisa to collect Tk Five lakh as ransom from victim's father Monirul Islam who is a neighbour of the couple, he said.

Police and family sources said Raisa went missing on 24 September.

Later, a general diary was filed with Labonchara police station in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, Police raided Labonchara area on Sunday night and rescued Raisa.

They also arrested the abductors Palash and his wife from the spot.
