Munshiganj: A man was killed and four others injured as a goods-laden truck collided with an auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Muktarpur-Tongibari at Tinshiri area of Sadar upazila in Munsiganj in the early hours of Friday.

The deceased could not be identified immediately but police said that he was a resident of Tongibari upazila.

The body was sent to Munshiganj General Hospital.

Among the injured, Sujan, Labhlu and Tajul Islam received primary treatment. 

Hatimara Police sub-inspector Mohammad Selim said a Tongibari-bound auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a Muktarpur-bound truck, and left a passenger died on the spot.

Mohammad Selim said the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.
