Naogaon: Fifteen private hospitals were ordered shut down on Monday as those had been found either non-fit for providing healthcare or giving services beyond their licence period.

The charges include non- renewal of licences, admitting patients beyond capacity, unhygienic atmosphere and shortage of doctors and nurses.

Naogaon civil surgeon AKM Muzahar Hossain gave the order and forwarded copy of that letter to district civil and police administrations.

Later, district civil and police administration in a joint drive closed those clinics on Tuesday.

The clinics closed down are: Ahsan General Hospital, Jayeda Clinic and Diagnostic Centre, Jamjam Clinic, Badalgachhi Jahanara Clinic, Maa Clinic in Manda, Al Amin Clinic in Niamatpur, Sheba Clinic and Nursing Home, Haque Clinic, Rehana Clinic and Diagnostic centre, Lima Clinic in Mahadedpur, Gosh and Diagnostic Centre, Nazirpur Islamia Clinic and Alfa Clinic in Patnitala upazila.

Civil Surgeon said more action would be taken if any one tried to reopen clinic violating the order.
