2 cut under train

Gazipur: Two people were crushed under the wheels a train near a railway bridge in Bhurulia area of Gazipur on Friday.

Two people were also injured during the accident.  

The deceased are Ramzan Ali, and Pervez, both of them were hearing-impaired.

All of the deceased and injured were workers of Keya Knit Composite Factory in Konabari area of Gazipur.

The victims were residents of different parts of Khulna and Bhola districts.

Pervez and Ramzan Ali, who were followers of Tabligh Jamaat, had gone to Bhurulia Markaj Mosque to attend sermon on Thursday, the Joydebpur railway police said.

The accident took place in the area at about 7:30am when a Jamalpur-bound commuter train crashed into four people while they were crossing the rail bridge.

The crash threw the four into a marsh under the rail bridge, leaving Parvez and Ramzan dead on the spot and their two fellows injured.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital morgue.

The injured identified as Momin and Sumon were also taken to the same hospital.
