Natore: A farmer was killed in an attack over a land-related dispute at Bhoga Bosontopur village in Singra upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Shamsul Haque, a resident of the village.

The Singra police said Shamsul and Jahurul of the village had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.

Following the issue, Jahurul along with his several supporters equipped with sharp weapons attacked Shamsul while he was taking tea in a tea stall at Mayer Bazar at the village in the morning, leaving him critically injured.

Later he was taken to Singra upazila Health Complex.

Later, he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

Shamsul died undergoing treatment at the hospital.
