14-party to hold mass-contact campaign
The Awami League-led 14-party alliance will hold mass contact campaigns in Rangpur, Gaibandha and Bogra districts on March 8-10 against the countrywide violence and arson attacks.
Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, also the spokesman for the ruling combine, announced this at a rally in the run-up to a mass procession against the violence and arsons attacks from in front of GPO in Dhaka on Friday.
Nasim said the central leaders of the 14-party alliance will visit and lead the mass campaigns in the three northern districts for three consecutive days from March 8.
He reiterated that the parliamentary polls will not take place before 2019.
Speaking on the occasion, the 14-party leaders said dialogue and violence cannot take place simultaneously.
The procession ended at Shikha Chirantan at Suhrawardy Udyan.
