15 Bangladeshis, 1 Indian held at Benapole border
Benapole: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 15 Bangladeshis and an Indian while they were entering the country through Putkhali border point in Benapole on Sunday night.
The arrested Bangladeshis, residents of different areas of Narail, Bagerhat and Barisal districts, were returning to the country after going to India illegally.
The Indian national was Khirsho Sarkar, resident of Kalinagar village of Nadia district.
BGB officials said a team of the border guards conducted a drive on Sunday night and arrested them while they were trying to enter the Bangladesh territory valid documents.
Sujit Kumar, sub-inspector of Benapole Port Police Station, said a case was filed in this connection.
