Suspected JMB member held

Naogaon: Police in a drive arrested a suspected close former associate of Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai, executed second-in-command of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, from bus stand area of Raninagar upazila on Sunday night.
The arrestee is Jazi Mozaffar Hossain, a resident of Adamdighi upazila in Borga.
The Raninnagar police said on secret information a team of police conducted drive in the area at about 9:30am and arrested him.
Mozaffar Hossain is a listed criminal and wanted in Raninagar Jubo League leader Idris Ali Khejur murder case, added the OC.
Police said Mozaffar secured bail from the court in the case and is now working on to form another militant outfit.
JMB chief Abdur Rahman, its operations commander Bangla Bhai and four other top leaders were executed in 2007 for killing two judges in Jhalakathi in a suicide bomb attack on 14 November, 2005.
