Mymensingh: A court awarded life term imprisonment to seven persons including a father and his son in a murder case in Mymensingh on Monday.

The convicts were also fined Tk 5,000 each, in default to suffer three months more in jail, court sources said.

The convicts are Abdul Quddus, 55, his son Abdul Jabber, 30, three brothers-Abu Taher, 31, Abu Sayeed, 38, Abul Kalam, 40, Rafiqul Islam, 30 and Lal Miah alias Lalu, 42.

The case story said, the convicts led by Abdul Quddus beat Harunur Rashid at Katlasen Bazar in Mymensingh Sadar upazila on 11 November 2009 over previous enmity and injured him critically and he died on the spot.

Later, victim’s brother Mamunur Rashid filed a case with Kotwali Police Station on the following day.

After investigation and inquiry police submitted charge-sheet against the seven convicts.
