Sunamganj: An elderly man was killed and 29 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over previous enmity at Raibangali village in Dirai upazila of Sunamganj on Wednesday.

The deceased is as Chamak Ali, a resident of the village.

Police said the supporters of Jahir Ali and his neighbour Abdul Malik equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other at about 12:30pm over previous enmity, leaving 30 others injured from both sides.

The injured were admitted to Dirai upazila health complex where Chamak Ali succumbed to his injures at about 6:00pm, said officer-in-charge of Dirai Police Station Bayes Alam.
