Dhaka: Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Masud Bin Momen has assured Japanese Diet members and business leaders about top security measures taken by Bangladesh government for all foreign nationals, including Japanese living in Bangladesh.

He also urged Japanese lawmakers and business leaders for their continued engagement and frequent visits to Bangladesh to boost the existing bilateral relations.

Ambassador Masud was speaking at a dinner party hosted by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo in honor of the members of the Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship League (JBPFL) on Tuesday, according to a press release.

About a dozen Diet members as well as 20 top Japanese business leaders from Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Toray, Marubeni, Obayashi, Itochu etc. and senior government officials were present.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Japan and the President of Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship League Taro Aso, MP attended the event as the chief guest.

Ambassador Masud urged the members of the Parliamentary League to convey to the Japanese Government not to be deterred by the recent isolated and heinous act of killing of a Japanese national in Bangladesh and keep the momentum of decade-long economic engagement.

Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso, in his remarks, appreciated the launching of 'Comprehensive Partnership' between the two countries last year and pledged for continued Japanese support and cooperation for Bangladesh.
