27 held for illegal border crossing

Benapole: Border Guard Bangladesh (BSF) detained 27 people on Friday night from Putkhali border area of Benapole on charge of crossing the Indo-Bangla border illegally, said local police.
The arrestees are residents of different areas in Narail, Satkhira and Bagerhat districts.
Putkhali BGB 23 camp Subedar Farid Uddin said, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at about 11:00pm and arrested 27 Bangladeshi, including 11 women and two children, who were trying to go to India without valid documents.
Later, BGB troops handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station.
A case was filed in this connection.
