Govt awaits a disgraceful fall: BNP
Dhaka: Claiming the government has failed to get any sympathy and recognition from the international community, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Sunday said the fall of the regime is now only a matter of time.
“The current illegal government which begged door to door of the international community with a hope to get recognition and sympathy has finally been refused and now awaits a disgraceful fall,” BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed said in a statement.
He also alleged that the government has failed to brand the current political crisis created from a ‘controversial, voter-less and facial’ election as a militancy-related problem to the international community. “Now they’ve indulged in a serious carnage.”
The BNP leader said the law enforcers cooked up a crossfire story after illing student leader Tipu and Jasas leader Kabir Hossain at Agoirjhola in Barisal.
He strongly condemned such killings.
Salahuddin warned that those responsible for the killings will be tried in proper courts, including the international crimes tribunal, after the change of power.
He also said those being killed in the current movement will be given the honour of national heroes once their party returns to power.
