Development will go on: Sheikh Hasina
Bogra: None can halt Bangladesh’s march towards being a middle income country by 2019, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has told a Bogra rally.
After the assassination of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujib, all types of developments were seized, but Awami League resumed advancement by returning to power after 21 years, she told the rally at Altafunnessa playground in Bogra on Thursday.
She reiterates her promise to build Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and Palli Janapad, probably a developed residential area with modern amenities for rural people.
The Awami League president also fiercely criticized Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its leaders for their political programmes that not only hampered development but destroyed public properties.
‘BNP-led alliance can only destroy things, kill people,’ she added.
She, addressing rally in the BNP stronghold, severely condemned the role of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for its anti-government programmes.
‘Khaleda Zia ordered arson attacks across country for three consecutive months from Jan to March,’ she said.
Bangladesh will be established as peaceful county in South Asia and peace will prevail in Bangladesh despite all conspiracies, she added.
