Dhaka: The Bangladesh nationals residing in Paris where multiple terror attacks killed so many innocent people are unhurt, said an official.

‘I came to know from the community that some Bangladeshi people reside in the area of the occurrence. But they are all safe,’ an official at the Bangladesh Embassy in Paris said quoting the information received from one of them–Dibbyo Roy.

Roy runs a Bangladeshi restaurant close to Bataclan concert hall, according to a message obtained by UNB from Paris.

TM Reza, a Bangladeshi social worker, who was present at the stadium when bomb blasts took place, has also said there is no news of casualty among Bangladeshi community.

The official advised to contact T M Reza (+33 6 51 36 02 22), Wahid Var Taher (+33614497095), and Bibbyo Roy (+33 652265440) for further information.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Paris has set up a hotline to receive calls regarding Paris incident. The number is +33146519033, said a Foreign Ministry note.

An official at the Foreign Ministry here said the Europe Wing of the Foreign Ministry are in touch with officials in Paris to check out whether any Bangladesh national is there among the victims. ‘So, far there's no such report.’

Meanwhile, French President Francois Hollande blamed the Islamic State group for orchestrating the deadliest attacks inflicted on France since World War II and vowed Saturday to strike back without mercy at what he called ‘an act of war’.

At least 150 people died on Friday night in shootings at Paris cafes, suicide bombings near France's national stadium and a hostage-taking slaughter inside a concert hall.
