Rajshahi: Rajshahi Motor-Sramik Union went on an indefinite transport strike in the district on Sunday morning demanding a ban on plying of illegal vehicles on different roads and highways of the region, reports local news agency.

Mahatab Ali, general secretary of Rajshahi Motor-Sramik Union, called the strike on Saturday afternoon.

Vehicular movement remained suspended due to the strike, causing untold sufferings to the passengers.

Manjur Rahman Piter, general secretary of Rajshahi Bus Owners’ Association, threatened to enforce an indefinite transport strike in Rajshahi division if the government does not take any step in this regard immediately.
