2nd day Indo-Bangla home secy-level talks begin

Dhaka: The second day India-Bangladesh Home Secretary-level talks started at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Tuesday morning.

As part of the two-day conference, members of joint working groups of both the countries sat in a meeting at Hotel Sonargaon on Monday afternoon to finalise today’s  Home Secretary-level talks.

Local news agency reports,senior Secretary to the Home Ministry Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan is been leading the Bangladesh side while Indian home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi leading his country’s team in today’s meeting.

The two-day conference will end after signing of agreed decisions in the afternoon.

Earlier on Monday, Additional Secretary (political) of Home Ministry Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem was leading a 14-member Bangladesh delegation in the joint working group meeting while his counterpart joint secretary MA Ganapathy of Indian Home Ministry was leading a 12-member team.

Repatriation of top criminals hiding in India, killing of Bangladeshi nationals on the borders by the Indian BSF, cattle-trading and cross-border movement were favoured to top the agenda in the joint working group meeting, a senior officer of the Home Ministry said.
