The BNP-led 20-Party Alliance has yet again extended its ongoing 72-hour hartal to Friday, said a press release on Tuesday.

The alliance’s 72-hour, started from Sunday this week, was supposed to end on Wednesday 6:00am.

Signed by BNP joint secretary general Salauddin Ahmed, the press release also announced the holding of protest rallies across the country on 26 February.

It was said in the statement that the extension in hartal came as a protest against the ‘extra-judicial killings of the alliance’s leaders and activists by law enforcement agencies’.

The BNP-led alliance has been observing blockade for nearly 50 days. And during this time, it has been intermittently announcing and then extending hartal for almost five days of the weeks.
