Daughter of ex-Ittefaq journo found dead
Police on Friday recovered a body with hands and legs tied from a residence at Rampura in Dhaka.
The deceased was identified as Fahmida Akhter Nipun, daughter of former Daily Ittefaq acting editor late Akhtar-Ul-Alam.
On information, Rampura police officials went to the residence of the deceased in Rampura Mahanagar project and recovered the body at about 2:15pm.
The body was lying on the ground with her face downwards, said Rampura police officer-in-charge Mahbubur Rahman Tarafdar.
He said that the deceased was living alone in a flat as her husband lives abroad.
Police officials who visited the spot suspected that Nipun might have been killed by early on Thursday.
The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
‘The detail might be disclosed after the autopsy is completed,’ said Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
A murder case has been filed in this connection with Rampura police.
