Khulna: A young man was hacked to death by miscreants in Cemetery Road of Khulna city on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Gouranga Biswas,26, a resident of Muripotti area of the city.

Police and locals said one Shukur called Gouranga over his mobile phone and took him to a Christian graveyard in the area at about 1:00am.

An altercation ensued between them and at one stage, Shukur hacked Gouranga with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

Sadar police officer-in-charge Shafiqul Islam said locals spotted the body of Gouranga from the area and informed police at about 10:00am on Saturday.

Police recovered the body that bore several stab marks and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
